Tell us about how you got into Process Mining?
A couple of years ago, I moved to Ireland to pursue my master’s studies. As a part of it, I had to do a capstone project, which means working on an applied industry project. With experience in the healthcare industry, I was very excited to do this capstone project at Pfizer. The project centered around doing a Process Mining analysis of the O2C processes at Pfizer, which was my first encounter with Process Mining. At the end of the project, my supervisor told me that they’re looking for graduates to join their Process Mining team. So I applied and got hired! And fast forward until this day, I am happily working in Pfizer, still using process mining tools and continuing a relationship with Celonis.
What’s your most interesting project with Process Mining so far?
Recently I’m working on a Sustainability project at Pfizer, where we focus on measuring and reducing our emissions. By utilizing Process Mining, we at Pfizer are able to trace our emissions to different processes and identify redundancies. This will help us achieve net zero sooner than most of the organizations in our space.
What advice would you give to someone looking for a career in Process Mining?
Always be the first to adopt a new technology. I was fascinated by the process mining capabilities as soon as I understood it, with all the immense potential within its tool. I’m very grateful to have adopted this new technology early in my career, and it has served me very well.
