Within our multidisciplinary teams, you continuously work on optimizing processes using the latest data applications and techniques. In this way, you create value for both our customers and our internal products.
Some topics our data engineers have worked on over the past year include:
- Setting up data pipelines that ensure the daily financial reports can run;
- Migrating a customer's data infrastructure to the cloud with Azure;
- Advising the client regarding the setup of a data platform and the creation of a Single Source of Truth;

You are responsible for:
- Setting up an ETL/ELT pipeline that aligns with the customer's needs;
- Optimizing complex data processing and finding efficient solutions;
- Assisting clients with setting up a cloud-based data architecture and infrastructure;
- Collaborating with colleagues from various data domains to develop data platforms and (streaming) data pipelines and implement production-ready solutions;
- Help determine the direction of data engineering within Bright Cape.

You have:
- A completed technical academic education, preferably in Computer Science, Informatics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Data Science, or a related field;
- Between 1 and 5 years of work experience;
- Programming skills in Python and SQL. Experience with PySpark is a plus;
- Basic knowledge of setting up and optimizing data pipelines and architectures;
- Knowledge of data engineering concepts such as SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehouse, data lakes, lakehouse, etc.;
- Basic knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, and/or custom data connections;
- Experience with deployment and working in a DevOps environment is a plus: Docker, K8s, CI/CD, Azure DevOps:
- Good command of Dutch and English.
